Love Zimbabwe

Welcome to Love Zimbabwe Charity

Our aim is to showcase the positive side of Zimbabwe. We endeavour to empower people by encouraging them to work and be self-sufficient.

Know where your money goes

We are an independent, non-government charity, working directly with communities in Zimbabwe to help them to be self-sufficient.

We are based in Abergavenny, Wales and our charity number is: 1137434.

Our work involves raising money for community projects and small-scale business start ups, organising and delivering craft workshops. We generate funds to support people in need in Zimbabwe mainly by organising fundraising events around the UK with an African theme. We also support schools and development projects in rural Zimbabwe.

As education is a priority for us, we work with schools in Wales and Zimbabwe, forging close relationships between them and twinning them with each other so they can learn and understand each other's cultures.  In particular we present workshops in Wales about African life, including learning things like drumming and what Fair Trade means and why it is important.

Fair trade arts and crafts

We have a Community Interest Company, associated to the charity, trading in African arts and crafts made by artists in Zimbabwe. We work on the principles of fair trade, and by dealing directly with the people who make the products, we make sure that they receive a fair price for their goods.

As a customer, whilst making a difference to someone's life, you also get to enjoy genuine, quality African works of art knowing that you’re supporting the producer and their community to sustain a better living.
